SALTY PALMS

- Come and create a lovely lanky impressionistic palm tree.
- Using frisket and salt and painting in the wet on wet style, you will create this loose and airy palm tree grouping suitable for framing.
- I will take you step by step though the process and you will take home a great piece.

SANTA MOON
Monday Nov 10th - 9:30 - 3:00 - $65.00
GET READY FOR THE HOLIDAYS
WITH YOUR OWN CARDS!
By request I'm running this fun Santa Moon character class again as it is simply a great way to ease into drawing and painting characters even with zero experience!
- We will begin with some sketching practice and then I will take you step by step, using a few basic shapes at first, then building out the face so you can create your own whimsical quarter moon.
- I will show you how to shade with a bit of pen work and then with color so your holiday moon has lots of your own unique personality.
(If you want to make some cards for your friends and family - I will give you some suggestions of where to go to get the painting scanned and printed into cards.)
(All materials are provided, however for those of you who own a Rapidograph pen, please feel free to bring that.
For those who don't know what the heck that is... no worries as I have plenty of pens.)
This is a bit of a long day so bring a light lunch or snack and I will provide the bottled water and coffee and carbs.

BUILD A FUNKY BOWL!WITH JUDY GILMER
Mon Nov 17th - 10:00 - 3:30 - $65.00
THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN!!
- Using 1 or 2 glass bowls that you select, we will make a plaster-fiber cast of your piece and then paint it!
- Any shape with an opening wider than the base will work (see image).
- Your bowl will be finished off with paint, or you can collage it and add some tissue paper, thread, leaves etc to the casting before it hardens.
- The casting of the bowls will be done outside as it is a bit of a messy process. Wear your comfy crafting or work clothes so you are ok with getting a bit "plastered" :0)
- If you want to use a large bowl just bring the one - or you can bring two or 3 smaller ones. Hit the thrift stores for uniquely shaped vessels.
- You will need a bucket for water, scissors, suggest rubber gloves and an apron.
- The process will not harm glass, so if you have a favorite piece from home, go ahead and bring that.
- This project is a lot of fun and your creation makes a nice gift for the holidays or as a centerpiece in your own home.
This is a bit of a long day so bring a light lunch and I will provide the coffee, carbs and water.

Join Leslie Weir for some sublime flower arranging!
- Let Leslie take you step by step through the basics of the ancient art of Japanese flower arranging.
- She will explore a bit of the history and philosophy of Ikebana so you have a greater appreciation of this wonderful art form.
- If you don't feel you are very creative this is the class for you!
- All materials are included: plants and flowers, the container and the flower frog, cutters and some written material for you to take home.

Bring your incomplete or problem watercolor and or ink pieces in for some help and suggestions.
- I will help you figure out how to blow through whatever barriers you have in completing one or more watercolor and/or ink art pieces. If you are stuck, or feel you made some boo-boos that you don't know how to fix, I will help you.
- If you want just to come and practice your ink work or watercolor techniques this is a great space and time to do that too.
- Please bring your incomplete art - your own materials (paints, pencils, paper etc)
- I have water vessels, pallets etc so no need to bring those.

FROG
Sund and Mond Nov 23rd and 24th - $110
TWO DAY CHARACTER WORKSHOP
I don't know why I love drawing frogs.. but they just sort of "hop" into my mind and want to be seen. SO...
- I will show you how to build a frog bloke or blokette from basic shapes.
- We will practice first on sketch paper and then go live on the good stuff.
- The image pictured is an example only and I will have other samples of different frog characters I have done to help you stimulate your creative juices.
- This class is also excellent for improving your painting skills using washes and shading.
***If you have a Rapidograph pen - please make sure it is in working order and bring it.

BASIC WATERCOLOR FOR BEGINNERS

I've had lots of requests for another basic class so here we go!
- If you have never painted with watercolor before, or have, but it turned into a nightmare - come and give it a go with me!
- Whether you feel you have zero talent or no drawing skills, this class will show you quite differently.
- I will take you step by step through the process of creating a lovely, bright impressionistic floral which we will slip under a mat when done. All You will need to get is a frame to hang your first masterpiece!
- We will spend about 10 minutes going over a few basics so you are in the drivers seat with the paint. Just a few simple techniques to help get you started.
- Then you get to create your own version of the piece I am demonstrating - choose your own colors, create your own composition.
