WEE FOLK - 2 Day Workshop - (for those who love the detail)
Sat & Sun - August 15th & 16th - 9:30 - 3:30 -$110.00
- I thought it would be fun to focus on some Twigshire-ish people, rather than fish, bugs and birds.
The goal of this workshop is to really hone in on some precision ink work, gaining confidence in creating your own character by using basic shapes first and then "fleshing" out your character using YOUR imagination.
- As always I will guide you through building your take on my fantasy folk, giving you a few different sample characters to inspire you.
- The Devil is in the details as they say (someone said), so this will be an exercise in pointillism and PATIENCE. Yes, the 'P' word!
- If you have your own Rapidograph pens please bring them, making sure they are in good working order. .25 or .30 nib. If you don't have a pen no worries as I have enough to go round.
- Day one will be drawing, inking and basic wash layers
- Day 2 will be water coloring the body and the details.
- We will do one character only with some background or other items of interest so that we have a shot at completing within the 2 days.
Bring a light lunch/snack and I'll provide everything else and the coffee will be on!

SALTY PALMS
Wednesday - August 19th - 10:00 - 12:30 - $45.00
- Salty Palms has proven to be a very popular class because, apart from just the fun of it, we are using unconventional colors like pinks and purples, that actually do remind me of the lovely evening skies and hues here in Venice.
- Going south on 41 over the bridge to downtown Venice, the tall palms on the left have some of these tones so it's fun to attempt to capture some of those .
- As always I will guide you through the process of sketching your trees lightly applying frisket and then through glazing (or layering) water color washes, we build out the leaves.
- We will also use salt in the background which creates a unique feel to the painting by adding a pop of texture.

- She will take you step by step, so any level of creator is welcome! Seasoned artists looking for something new will enjoy.
- No experience necessary - beginning creators encouraged.

- I have had quite a few requests to get going on these classes so folks can create their own Holiday/Christmas cards and particularly - this fellow!
- I will show you how to build this goofy guy step by step from basic shapes, then fleshing those shapes out and embellishing him with clothing and decorations.
- You can dress him/her any way you choose; have a dreidle dangling out of his beak or maybe a piece of fruit for Kwanzaa or anything else
that speaks to your special celebratory time.
- This is a longer than usual class so bring a snack.

TURTLES IN TURQUOISE

MINI TREES X 2
Wednesday - Sept 2nd - 10:00 - 12:00 - $45.00
- This mini watercolor combines wet on wet and stipple techniques which I thought would be a fun class as well as a bit challenging.
- We will work on 2 5X7 pieces and I will show you one step at a time how to wash the background sky with several muted colors. This is an exercise in restraint and less is more, even though we will use about 4 or 5 colors for the sky.
- The trees are done using a small brush and stippling the paint first.. then I will show you how to blend the dots. Layering the colors of course so you get a nice 3D effect
- So, for those wanting to continue to practice your backgrounds, skies and wet on wet but on a small scale, I think you might enjoy this.

- Let's get together to create some awesome acrylic abstract paintings.
- Beginner to experienced welcome.
