WILDFLOWER WEEDS
Wednesday - September 23rd - 10:00 - 12:30 - $50.00
- This class is a fun challenge in that there is no pencil or line drawing at all.
- A super exercise in shaking things out, staying loose (*or getting loose) and allowing the watercolor paint to show you her majick!
- We will use frisket to help us create some all important "white space" while we flick stalks and stems, dab on blower dots with paint and at the end, create "orbs" using bottle tops and wine corks, applying different shades of Chinese metallic golds.

Kumi Bracelets
Thursday - September 24th - 10:00 - 1:00(ish) - $45.00
- Ready to try something new?
- Kumi is an ancient Japanese weaving art that has been transposed into weaving for jewelry.
- We will be making one Kumihimo bracelet. This project will take between 2-3 hours to complete. Beginners welcome!
- All supplies are included for this class. If you would like to "upgrade" your bracelet, kits will be available for a nominal fee.

SALTY PALMS
Saturday -Sept 26th - 10:00 - 12:30 - $45.00
- Salty Palms has proven to be a very popular class because, apart from just the fun of it, we are using unconventional colors like pinks and purples, that actually do remind me of the lovely evening skies and hues here in Venice.
- Going south on 41 over the bridge to downtown Venice, the tall palms on the left have some of these tones so it's fun to attempt to capture some of those .
- As always I will guide you through the process of sketching your trees lightly applying frisket and then through glazing (or layering) water color washes, we build out the leaves.
- We will also use salt in the background which creates a unique feel to the painting by adding a pop of texture.

INKY POPPIES

- This inky and quite loose poppies class has proven to be very popular because, apart from just the fun of it, we are using a limited palette, precision line work with the ink and then painting a bit outside the lines with wet on wet. So, lots to learn and accomplish!
- As always I will guide you through the process of sketching your piece, then lightly inking and finally the painting process.

- Using scraps of handmade paper and specialty paper fibers and molding paste to sculpt ridges and peaks and valleys, Kiera will show you how to create a canvas piece embellished with beads and other treasures for a fun, eclectic end result ready for hanging!

Pumpkin People & Gourd Guy

- Herald in Autumn with this fun Pumpkin People and Gourd Guy painting.
- In this class I will take you step by step in creating 1 or 2 pumpkin people and a gourd "guy"
- This is a fun spin on my Fall Bounty floral class for those wanting a bit of whimsy to either frame or to make as cards for Thanksgiving. This would be good as a Thanksgiving invitation for family and friends.
- We will pencil sketch, then ink and then paint so this is a good class for honing your drawing and inking skills, as well as wet on wet and wet on dry water coloring techniques.

Branches & Leaves
Friday Oct 9th - 10:00 - 12:30 - $50.00
- Learn how to draw, ink and paint these simple branches, step by step.
- Follow along with me as you free-hand the branches first with pencil, then ink then using a bit of ink pointillism to shade and help create a sense of depth.
- Then build the texture and 3D of the tree trunk and branches with several different colors, learning how to blend and diffuse the paint.blending one area with another.
- Once the branches are done we will free-hand fantasy leaf clusters using Autumn colors (or whatever you want) in the wet on wet style.
- The end result feels a bit Eastern/Asian and a bit faerie too.

A Cat or Two

For the Feline Fans out There!

- Learn step by step how to build some cats. We will use basic shapes to pencil sketch the bodies - then flesh those out - then ink, then paint using color to create depth and dimension.
- Have fun creating some personality with clothing and accessories. Your imagination - your choices.
- The class is a long-ish one - so bring a snack and I will have the coffee and carbs to keep your energy up.
- For those of you with Rapidograph pens, please bring them, make sure the ink is flowing and they are ready to use.
