"SALTY PALMS"

FAVORITE CLASS - SO LET'S DO IT AGAIN!
- Using the wet on wet technique over a very light pencil sketch,frisket here and there to give pops of white space, you will learn how to create this cheery loose palm tree piece.
- Using salt you will learn how to create some fun texture in the background of your trees, adding some layers of colors over the salt as well as beneath.
- We will build this color by color as I take you, as always, step by step through the process.

"BIG FAT SUNFLOWER"

- Using the wet on wet technique over a very light pencil sketch, you will learn how to paint this loose sunflower.
- This is an exercise in letting go while also being in control of where the paint goes. I know, sounds contradictory. You'll See!
- We will salt a bit of the background and do some negative painting so you can get a taste of how that can add some pop and drama to a piece.
- We will also utilize our brushes to do some stippling and create texture in the paper for a bit of a 3D feel.
- Lots of fun and very satisfying.

- I will show you how to compose some simple floral shapes that result in a lovely impressionistic painting suitable for framing.
- I supply all materials including a mat so all you will need to do is to get a frame should you choose to display your work of art.

Ongoing Acrylics with Judy Gilmer
Thursday Feb 26th - 10:00 - 3:00 - $65.00
- For all levels of acrylic painters, beginners to more seasoned, you will gain a lot of insight in this fun class.
- Loosen up, paint outside the box and take home a finished piece.
- This is an ongoing series, building the concepts of what makes an abstract painting .
- Paint a realistic piece and then in the afternoon we will abstract the piece from the morning.

"3D Watercolor"
Monday March 9th - 10:00 - 12:30 - $55.00
- Using molding past, spatula knives and rollers, we will create an impressionistic floral freehand.
- Applying Frisket here and there gives a fun airy touch once dried and removed, and the watercolor applied wet on wet over the sculpted flowers gives you wonderful depth and contour.
- There is no pencil drawing in this.
- This is a great exercise in loosening up and expanding your tool kit of techniques so you can have fun trying it at home on your own.

"Whimsy Fish for Beginners"
Monday March 16th - 10:00 - 2:30(ish) - $65.00
- Come and learn how to build a fun fish from basic shapes.
- You don't need to have had any drawing experience, as I will show you step by step how to pull this off.
- We will use my fish character (as a reference only) with no copying or tracing and you will create your own unique fish gal or guy learning how to flesh it out and add fun details.
- This is a longer than usual class so bring a light snack and I will provide the coffee and carbs.
